Carlin G. Smith Recreation Center
This wonderful community center has an outdoor basketball court, picnic areas, and offers many after school and extracurricular activities for children. To reach the recreation center head up W Avenue 45 and make a right on Frontenac Ave. There is plenty of parking right across from the building.
Mount Washington’s Outdoors
Mount Washington’s parks: Greayer’s Oak Park, Moon Canyon Park, and Sycamore Grove Park all offer a great escape from the surrounding city. There are many ways to bask in the nature including the Jack Smith Trail that shows you many of Mt. Washington’s historical and scenic views. Near the top of Mount Washington is a 25 acre park named Elyria Canyon Park. There is a 1 mile scenic trek that takes you around it known as the Elyria Canyon Loop. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air.
